Rev. Tex Ergle

Tex was born in Double Springs Alabama. He grew up in Northeast Arkansas where he graduated from Cash High School in Cash, Arkansas. After spending four years in the Air Force with the last year spent in Vietnam he returned to Alabama with plans to get married. He and Regina were married in January 1969. In February 1973 Tex heard God's call to the ministry. He took his first appointment in the United Methodist Church in June 1973. That fall he began his education. He received a B.S. degree in Sociology from the University of North Alabama in 1977 and a Master of Divinity degree from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, in December 1979 . He was ordained a Deacon in the United Methodist Church in 1975 and was ordained Elder in 1981. He came to the FUMC of Jasper as senior pastor of in June of 2002.

Stuart and his family have been long-time members of this congregation, and he brings his musical and professional talents to the church as contemporary Worship Leader.



Angie Lewis

Angie was born in 1968 at Peoples Hospital in Jasper and grew up in Nauvoo, AL. For most of her life she attended the Nauvoo First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Carbon Hill High School in 1986 and then received an Associate in Science Degree from Walker College, now known as Bevill State Community College. She also attended Auburn University. Angie married Gerry (say "Gary") Lewis, formerly of Columbiana, AL, in December of 1998. They have one child, Mattie Grace, who was born in December of 2001. After approximately 20 years divided almost equally between working at a local financial institution and a law office in Mountain Brook, God called Angie to do His work by ministering to the children of this congregation. She is passionate about showing children the love of Jesus Christ by loving and caring for them.

Dr. Stallsmith earned his B.M. at Youngstown University; M.M., University of Kansas; D.M.A., University of Alabama. He is also the Music Director of the
Jasper and Sumiton campuses
of Bevill State Community College



Kim Dunn
Secretary

Born in Smithfield, North Carolina, Kim was raised in Cordova, Alabama, where she graduated from Cordova High School. Kim and her husband Vic are members of the Church of God of Prophecy in Parrish where she is the Praise and Worship Leader, Piano Player and events coordinator. Kim is also a member of the Celebration Team at the FUMC for more than 2 years. She started singing and playing the piano when she was only 4 years old. Her personal ministry includes traveling locally and abroad sharing Jesus through ministry of song. Prior to joining our staff, Kim worked at People's Bank of North Al. for 4 years and before that she owned a Cash Advance Co.


Adam Love
Youth Director

Adam, a native of Kentucky, was born in Louisville. He is the middle child of three boys. His father is a pastor in the United Methodist Church, so he has lived all over western Kentucky. Adam heard God’s call to ministry when he was sixteen. His first opportunity to work in youth ministry came at age eighteen when he was hired as a staff member at Camp Loucon, a United Methodist camp in KY. He received a dual B.S. degree in Religion and Philosophy from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2003, and a Master of Arts degree in Theological Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2008. Some of his favorite activities include singing, playing the guitar, and playing Frisbee golf.



Staci Brakefield

Staci is a native of Jasper. After graduation from Walker High School, Staci went to The University of Alabama where she earned an Early Childhood / Elementary School degree. Staci taught in the Jasper City School System at T. R. Simmons for 8 years before deciding to be a stay-at-home mom. Staci became the Preschool Director in 2008. Staci has been married to Jim Brakefield, a local attorney with Jackson Fikes Hood and Brakefield, for 13 years. They have two sons, Cain Wallace Brakefield and Reese Rollins Brakefield. They are active members of FUMC. Staci is active in church activities, community and civic organizations as well as in your boys’ school.

Very active in the Hope Kitchen before joining our staff, Cheryl has a special place in her heart for people less fortunate. Now, all our members benefit from her
"down-home" cooking.
